This event was the first event to kick off our new youth schedule which includes a regularly scheduled fun event the second Sunday of every month. One way we worship God is by enjoying ourselves and enjoying the gifts that God gives us. Some of our early church leaders said the chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. Wow! I think they got it right! So take some time and glorify God by enjoying what He gives you.

Below are some pictures of the day for your enjoyment. Hope you can make our next Second Sunday Fun event which will be on August 14. Stay tuned for an announcement as to what we will be doing that day.

Enjoying God, -dave

Think Your Kids Aren’t Listening? Think Again.

According to all the research that I have ever read, parents are still the the most important influence into the morals and values of their children. In a research study conducted by the American Bible Society, 67% of students said their parents where their most important role models. It is important to remember this as we teach our teenage children about faith in God and following Jesus as Lord.

Now you may be thinking to yourself “I don’t spend time teaching my child about faith, that’s your job Dave.” “Oh grasshopper you are mistaken, we are always teaching our children about faith in God.” Whether you know it or not, you are teaching them. They watch everything you do and hear everything you say. This is important to remember because they catch it all, GOOD and BAD.

So How are your teens doing when it comes to their faith in Jesus? Are they becoming more and more like Jesus in what they say and do? Do they have more peace, love, joy, patience, self control, compassion for others? Would you like them to become more like Christ? Would you want your children to have more of those traits? If your answer is “Of Course I do” then I have good news for you. God wants that too. God wants that for all of us!! We were all meant to live like that. And since your kids are looking to you for guidance as their role models, there is one very important thing you can do to help your kids become all that God wants them to become.

Get them to the Church!!!

Seriously! The church is here for this very purpose. The church is here to come along side of you and help you teach your children about Faith in God and help them become more and more like Jesus.

Starting on Sunday June 5th all students going into grades 6-12 will have the opportunity to come together to learn from the Bible, have discussions about faith and join together in prayer. We will continue to meet every Sunday starting at 5pm and ending at 6:30. Stay tuned for the next post for more detail about what we will be doing when we meet together. But until them mark your calendar for June 5th and lead your teens to become more like their savior Jesus.
